Dear Colleagues:
On October 24-26, 2008, over 300
McKnight students and professors will meet at the Tampa Airport Marriott
for our 24th Annual McKnight Fellows Meeting and 12th
Annual Graduate School Conference. We invite you and your school to
participate as an exhibitor at the Conference.
Founded in 1984 to address the lack of
African Americans in higher education, today the McKnight Doctoral
Fellowship Program attracts and subsidizes record numbers of African
American and Hispanic students. We take pride that McKnight has
consistently raised the bar for innovative practices to help students
fully develop their talents and expertise. We believe that our scholars
are among the brightest in the nation, highly motivated and prepared to
meet the divergent needs of communities, academia, and industry.
For the past four years, our
exhibitors’ reception has been a premier feature of the Conference.
This year, we offer a “Dialogue with Exhibitors” luncheon on
Saturday, October 25, 2008. Whether or not you have exhibited with
us in the past, there are compelling reasons why your school/business
needs to attend this year:
-
At the Saturday luncheon, a presentation opportunity before more than 300 doctoral students and
professors, including one of the largest incoming classes in 24 years.
-
Exhibition space available for the
duration of the Conference.
-
Many
networking opportunities, enhanced by:
- booths for private meetings
made available by request;
- curriculum vitae and resumes available on diskettes;
- additional events and plenary sessions.
-
The chance to observe our doctoral
students and professors during formal and informal discussions that
elucidate their research interests, strengths, and expertise.
The Annual Fellows Meeting is just one
in a series of events designed to inform, train, and connect McKnight
scholars. Recognizing the emphasis in academia on research, we piloted
a successful Research and Writing Institute this summer to supplement
the array of support services we offer to students. The work we put into refining the McKnight
support system indicates our commitment to the development of
successful, productive, and well-rounded scholars.
Don’t take our word for it. Come
see for yourself on October 24-26. You may complete your
registration online by clicking here. Please note
that of the three participation levels we offer, Plan B includes the
most opportunities to interact with McKnight Fellows.
A summary of the
2008 program will be available shortly. If you have questions, please
